We take employee empowerment seriously at RLI. Multi-layered, heavily bureaucratized companies can no longer compete. Demanding educational standards

This level of empowerment requires a highly qualified and extremely competent workforce. All RLI applicants must meet demanding educational standards and have finished their last level of formal schooling with at least a B average. RLI employees are encouraged to further their professional education as well. We have one of the highest pass/fail ratios of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter students in the country. In fact, we consider ourselves an institution of higher learning for the insurance industry.

This can-do attitude is matched by a commitment to assuring our employees have the best tools possible to do the job. Our management information systems are state-of-the-art. Web-based applications make it easy for our producers to conduct RLI business from any location with Internet access. More and more internal processes are automated each year. If there’s a marketing opportunity, we can pursue it.
