RLI Surety was established in late 1992 and began producing business in April, 1993. The division has grown through the creation of new segments, addition of underwriting groups, expansion into new geographic regions, the purchase of Underwriters Indemnity Company in 1999, and the purchase of CBIC in 2011. Currently, RLI Surety’s portfolio is divided into four segments: commercial bonds, contract bonds, energy bonds and miscellaneous bonds. Surety offices are located throughout the country in close proximity to our producers and their customers. RLI Surety has the expertise and talent to meet the unique needs of customers across all segments of our business.

RLI is an admitted carrier in all 50 states and can support Canadian and Puerto Rican bond needs for established accounts. We write surety business through appointed independent insurance agencies.
